OUR STORY
Roanoque Baroque was established in 2022 to create a community of instrumentalists and singers who would collaborate instrumental and vocal ensembles to preform in the Roanoke Valley and beyond.
The performances include musical masterpieces from the Renaissance era to Contemporary periods with an emphasis on the music of the 18th century. Blending professional and dedicated amateur performers, our musical programs spotlight past acoustical, architectural, spiritual and cultural significance to connect with diverse audiences today.
We, at Roanoque Baroque, are passionate about reaching out to young musicians and audiences in the community. We also endeavor to include those who historically have less access to enjoy performing arts, especially those who are hospitalized, incarcerated, have limited mobility or financial constraints.
The majority of the classic, historical masterpieces we perform were, at the time, designed in anticipation for preforming in royal courts and churches around Europe due to the composer’s desire to demonstrate a witness to the wonder and beauty of creation.
As a tribute, we dedicate our time and attention to also sharing the “Glory of God” reflected by past composers to again entice the modern age.
